Mm. It would seem my classmates are celebrating summer's end with poolside festivities. We were encouraged to bring a guest, so it occurred to me that you might be interested.

Ah, it's a pool party! I have always wanted to really go to one of those with coed attendance. I have only been to the beach with my group of friends.

[Well, sort of. It's complicated.]

Will you be swimming yourself, Fumikage-san?

I'm glad you're excited. Truth be told, I planned to keep myself within the shade - Dark Shadow has no love for sunlight. I will dress appropriately for the event, though. It's important not to interrupt the party's aesthetic.

I am flattered that you thought to ask me to join you and your friends for such an occasion. I have only met Momo-san so far.

[And, well, she doesn't want his friends to dislike her now. Making a good impression is very important at this point. She doesn't know how much influence they will have on the boy, but she knows that if they don't like her that it would make any further...relationship they might have all the more difficult.]

Ah, hm, well, I will make sure to dress accordingly also. However, I do like swimming a great deal and haven't had the chance to do much of it lately.

Is that right? I suppose there is still much that I have yet to learn about you. A strange coincidence that such a function arose for you to partake of.

I hope that we will get along, yes. She has insisted that I call her by her personal name, which might take some time to get used to.

Mm, yes, I believe that there is a lot about one another that we don't know yet. However, I find it very fortuitous that this has happened.

OH! Is there anything that I might bring? Where is it being held?

Well, it was supposed to be Fated that we met, so it would be unwise to question that, no?

You're going to read at a pool party? Would you not enjoy at least some time in the water with the others? It is supposed to be an activity to build up relationships, to reinforce the bonds of friendship that only can be broken by death.

It is never unwise to question Fate - only in doing so may we change that which seems immovable.

... Not that I aim to alter its course in regards to this matter, at the time being.

I may partake of some aquatic entertainment, but for Dark Shadow's comfort I'd prefer to enjoy the shade as well. I also... that is to say, I have a certain threshhold for socializing. It is not that I don't enjoy the company of others, but I need some time of silent reflection.

However, it is good to know that you do not regret our meeting.

And it makes a great deal of sense that Dark Shadow-san does not like the sun that much. He appears to be the type of... person (?) that likes the dark very much. And while you can have pool parties in the evening, those hold a very different type of meaning in them.

They do? I've not heard of this distinction, but I've also never attended an evening swim. What difference is there?

Ah, well, there is always a bit of a sexual nature intended. At least that is what I have seen through media. When teens get together at night and water is involved, there are always... well, sex happens.

Rest assured, this function takes place during daylight hours.

Well, to be honest, I am very glad to hear that. I'm not at all sure how a part like that would go personally.
